An extraordinary altar, two towers, and a bugle call
Krakow's bugle call sounds to the four sides of the world, around the clock at a full hour from the higher tower of St. Mary's Basilica. The lower tower houses a set of five bells, with the largest one known as the Half Sigismund, at the top. The most famous work of art inside the church is, of course, the altarpiece by Wit Stwosz. The stellar polychrome by Jan Matejko, among others, and the magnificent stained glass windows (works by Jozef Mehoffer and Stanisław Wyspiański) will also impress.
